My morning patient was pretty hard. He has not been to the dentist in awhile and doesn't have good OH. It is amazing sometimes how people can go days without brushing their teeth. My patient had heavy plaque throughout his mouth. I will see him back in a couple of weeks to finish his treatment. I wonder if his OH will change due to having OHI instructions. Still looking for a board patient.

It was amazing the my afternoon patient had not been seen in 15-20 years, but was a class five due to his OH. I thought that it would be something harder. Good for him. Still looking for a board patient.

My morning patient was quite difficult. I missed several calculus spots. It was nice because one of the instructors over looked me and made sure that I was adapting the instrument correctly. This has been hard at times for me since we started school. Hopefully I can have this mastered before the boards. I am excited because today I found my 1st mockboard pt. Yeah!

Today is the first day back at the VA after our Christmas break. I saw a class five pt. The pt that I saw had good OH and had received past head and neck radiation due to oral cancer. This was pretty interesting. I'm glad to start our last semester even though it will be stressful with boards and all.

Today went well. I saw four patients and was able to complete my clinic simulation day. I'm glad to have finished one of the projects due for this semester already. The day went really fast and I was busy the whole time. I also was able to take 3 sets of BW today. Yeah its the last semester of my dental hygiene experience.

Thursday Dec. 3,2009

Today is the last day of clinic. This was a good day. I was able to do 2 full mouths, that means that I'm half way done with my PA's. I feel great. I'm so glad that I've made it this far and only have 1 semester to go. I saw my brother today. Hopefully, I didn't hurt him to bad. It is so nice that all of my family supports me so much with meeting my requirements. I hop that next semester goes this well especially with boards.

Today we had a lab in the morning. We learned about emergency preparedness, veloscope, and wheelchair transfer. I felt like I learned alot today. It was amazing how many people could move others from one chair to another. I feel like it is always good to refresh ourselves on emergency preparedness. In the afternoon I saw a girl that was referred from my sister in law. My sister in law said that she had not had a cleaning for a long time. I was glad that she was a class 1B for her,but I was hoping for a board patient or something that I could use for next semester. She was a nice girl and I was glad that I could help her.
